The Second Chance
Named one of The 10 Most Redeeming Films of 2006 by Christianity Today
The Story
Who exactly is your neighbor?
That's the question asked by THE SECOND CHANCE, the first movie directed (and co-written) by former recording artist and music-industry executive Steve Taylor. THE SECOND CHANCE is a gripping story of a prodigal son turned associate pastor and a street-smart senior pastor who struggle to bridge the gap between their respective churches and cultures.

Starring award-winning musician Michael W. Smith, THE SECOND CHANCE takes Ethan Jenkins (Smith) from his comfortable role as worship pastor at his father's suburban mega-church and places him as an uninvited helper at the under-resourced church of Jake Sanders (Jeff Obafemi Carr).

Jake and Ethan struggle to find common ground as they face squalor and violence, politics and the church, and their own relational shortcomings. Can the faith Ethan and Jake share overcome what divides them to give a second chance to a struggling church?

Like Ethan, THE SECOND CHANCE challenges viewers to step outside of their comfort zones and serve where they are called.

Get in the game!

Reviews
"This is a realistic and gritty film which will hit close to home for many Christians. ... This film will make the viewer think, and there are not a lot of movies which do that."

"It offers a realistic, provocative and unvarnished look at the issues of social, economic and racial disparities within the body of Christ ... (Steve Taylor's) movie has the potential to become a catalyst for positive personal and corporate change for those who have ears to hear."
